HEN Technologies

Aug 2025 – Present

Rameez joined HEN Technologies in 2025 as the first hire on an entirely new program, defining the product architecture and requirement specifications, and working directly with customers to understand how the equipment is really used in the field. Within six months he was leading hardware engineering across mechanical, electrical and firmware, reporting directly to the CEO, growing the team from three people to close to 25 and taking on 80 SKUs, from nozzles and valves to robotic monitors. Along the way he helped ramp production and grow revenue 3×, launched the Stream IQ flow and pressure sensor in three months at ±2% accuracy, and brought the Titan Elite and Titan Prime robotic monitors to market.

Alongside the products, he used AI to build the systems a fast-growing hardware company needs before it can afford to buy them: an in-house PLM for BOM and revision control, production planning, and COGS tracking, avoiding an estimated $115,000 a year in software licences, plus the ECO and change-control processes that keep engineering, supply chain, manufacturing and the executive team working from a single source of truth.

Form Energy

Jul 2022 – Feb 2025

At Form Energy, Rameez led the mechanical and electrical team behind the high-voltage and electro-mechanical subsystems of the world’s first iron-air battery systems for the grid: 1.5 kV interconnects, low-voltage electronics, harnessing and grid-connect interfaces. He owned the architecture decisions that tied mechanical and electrical integration together across cell, module and pack, taking the system through three generations while cutting cost 30% and working across hardware, firmware, site controls and product architecture to meet UL 9540 and NFPA 855.

That work put him in front of the executive team regularly on architecture trade-offs, design decisions and deployment. When a field hydrogen event needed answers, he was selected to lead the 8D root-cause investigation, reporting daily. Earlier on, he also supported early-stage R&D and manufacturing for the iron-air anode, helping scale its powder line from lab volume to initial production and raising throughput 10× in five months.

Tesla

Jan 2014 – Jun 2022

Tesla is where Rameez started his career in 2014, when the Model S was the only car in production and the company was still building vehicles in the thousands a year. Over nine years he grew with it as it scaled to nearly a million vehicles a year. His home was power electronics, but the role came with ownership far beyond it: on-board chargers and DC-DC converters across every vehicle platform, the Semi’s 1,000 V converter, and the automated burn-in and test equipment behind both vehicle and energy-storage production.

At that scale every decision carried weight. He led the Model 3 charger cost-down that saved $100M a year (a 30% reduction), drove reliability work that lifted fleet quality metrics from 70% to over 97%, scaled test capacity from 15,000 to 100,000 units a year, and is a named inventor on two patents, for press-fit fasteners and plate-wound magnetics.
