Automated power electronics burn-in testers

The work

Rameez owned the automated burn-in and functional test equipment for Tesla’s power electronics end to end: CAD, electrical design, build and validation, with a team of two technicians, plus the integration work that makes a tester part of a factory workflow rather than a machine standing beside it.

The equipment took manufacturing capacity from 15,000 units a year to 100,000 for vehicle and energy storage products. He also led production project ramps for the Model 3 launch, working on site in Reno, Nevada and at supplier factories.
