The work

Rameez invented a press-fit design to replace fasteners where the PCBA joins the heatsink, cutting manufacturing cycle time, board real estate and cost. Proving it out meant leading DFMEA and tolerance stack-ups across several programs, with simulation work on buckling, thermal expansion mismatch, material compatibility and the cold-weld interface the joint depends on.

Component samples went through failure analysis to understand where galvanic corrosion could take hold and what had to be controlled to keep it away. He then partnered with the press-fit supplier on high-volume stamped manufacturing and on the new equipment needed to fold the process into the production line.
